Crash Involving School Bus Closes Route 34 In Monroe At Stevenson Dam

MONROE, Conn. -- An accident involving a school bus has closed part of Route 34 in Monroe at the Stevenson Dam near the Oxford town line Wednesday.

Monroe Police said the collision involved a school bus with no students on board.

The Monroe Volunteer Fire Department said at around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday that crews were responding to the major motor vehicle accident. Route 34 is closed between Route 111 and the Oxford town line. Stevenson Dam carries Route 34 from Monroe to Oxford.

Monroe crews were operating along with crews from the Stevenson Volunteer Fire Company, the Stepney Fire Department, the Oxford Center Volunteer Fire Company and the Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue.

There will be a detour from Route 111 to Route 110.
